Album Review: Frantic Jack - Last One To Leave

There'll always be a place in my music collection for well written rock tunes with real heart in them. Frantic Jack's second album is a no frills, solid, commendable album of decent tunes which will do very well in rural Ireland.

I've seen Frantic jack perform a number of times and they are always a quality act without ever really getting me excited. I was apprehensive about reviewing 'Last One To Leave' but I've been impressed by the quality of the songs and the cohesiveness of the album. An initial burst of quality is the lead single 'Soar'.

Other fine tracks include 'Livinf Proof', 'Burn' and the album closer 'Lift You Up'. The album is full of good instrumentation where there's rarely excessive guitar solos and when strings are included they greatly enhance the quality of the songs. There's no reason why those songs mentioned above can't get national radio airplay and for the band to 'Soar' the same way as The Coronas or The Riptide Movement.
